French Finance Minister: We don't want any private company to create sovereign currency

On July 17, the French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said in an interview that we do not want any private company to create sovereign currency. Earlier, Le Maire said that the current conditions for creating Libra have not yet been realized. Controlling the risks posed by emerging currencies such as Libra will be one of their priorities. The G7 will remain vigilant about this issue and list it as an issue of equal importance to taxation, green finance, income equality and transparency. Le Maire said: "For us, the red line is that Libra must not be converted into a sovereign currency."
