The US Financial Industry Regulatory Authority has extended the deadline for company reporting encryption activities to July 31, 2020.

The US Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) has quietly extended the deadline for companies to report their encryption activities. FINRA requested last year (originally referred to as “encourage”). If a company or related individual/subsidiary “acts or intends to engage in activities related to digital assets”, the corresponding entity should notify its supervisory coordinator, including non-securities Digital assets, that is, cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin. The deadline for the notice is July 31 this year, and FINRA issued a follow-up report late last week to extend the deadline to the same day in 2020.
