Bitfinex's General Counsel responds to Coindesk: LEO sells through private placements, and Americans are not allowed to participate in purchases or transactions.

Stuart Hoegner, General Counsel of Bitfinex and Tether, responded to Twitter in Coindesk: I once again stated that UNUS SED LEO (Bitfinex platform coins) is sold through private placements and that these tokens are not available to Americans. In addition, Americans and non-US registered eligible participants controlled by Americans may not purchase or trade UNUS SED LEO tokens. Yesterday, CoinDesk reported that Arrington XRP Capital, based in Seattle, USA, and Arca, based in Los Angeles, purchased Bitfinex token LEO from a third-party channel.
