Ripple wrote to Congress: The cryptocurrency is a supplement to the US dollar, and the US should know how to seize the opportunity.

On July 28th, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and co-founder and Executive Chairman Chris Larsen wrote an open letter to the US Congress on regulatory issues in the cryptocurrency field. Garlinghouse and Larsen said in an open letter on Sunday that blockchain technology would put innovation, taxation and employment at risk if regulation is not clear. They also recommend classifying digital currencies to identify fundamental differences between them rather than describing them “roughly”. Garlinghouse and Larsen believe that cryptocurrencies are “supplements” to legal tenders such as the US dollar, not to “replace them” and that the United States has the opportunity to play a leading role in this area.
