According to CTVNews, ezBtc, a cryptocurrency exchange on Vancouver Island, has been the subject of six lawsuits in the past two years. Users of the platform revealed that these cases are just the tip of the iceberg. Ottawa resident Rob Johnston once deposited bitcoin in ezBtc. In August 2018, after selling the cryptocurrency in Canadian dollars on the platform, he requested to withdraw $2,633.18, but it has not been successfully cashed out for nearly a year. Johnston said he has contacted at least 30 people who could not withdraw from ezBtc. Although this number is difficult to verify, after evaluating the complaint cases on various social media platforms, it is conservatively estimated that at least 12 individuals have posted news that they have not been able to withdraw funds from ezBtc.
