Cathay Pacific uses blockchain technology to manage container transactions

According to Aircargo News, Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific became the first airline to introduce blockchain technology and manage its ULD (package) in real time via mobile applications. The program was successfully piloted last year to finalize paper receipts. The first phase of the project began in July. The company will initially focus on ULD transactions in selected locations in Hong Kong and the United States, and will then be rolled out to the entire Cathay Pacific network.
