Lawyer's point of view: The US Internal Revenue Service sent a letter to encrypt investors in order to force them to comply with the rules, rather than prosecute them

The US Internal Revenue Service recently sent a letter to more than 10,000 cryptocurrency investors informing them that they may be taxed on digital assets. Guinevere Moore, a tax attorney at Johnson Moore in Chicago, said the agency's possible goal is to force crypto tax avoiders to comply with regulations rather than prosecute them. But future criminal cases may bring a lawsuit against some of the recipients of the 10,000 letters.
