Media: Facebook hires former chairman of the Senate Banking Committee to promote Congressional approval of Libra

Facebook hired Susan Zook of Mason Street Consulting to join its lobbying team, which lobbyed lawmakers in the US to approve its digital currency, Libra. It is reported that Susan Zook is a former assistant to R-Idaho, chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, and she will then focus on lobbying Republicans in the Senate. To date, Facebook has spent more than $7.5 million on lobbying in Washington and has hired more than 12 external lobbying companies. Previously they had hired the lobbying companies Sternhell Group and Cypress Group, as well as the law firm Davis Polk to deal with Libra's problems.
