Media: India plans to submit encryption-related bills at the next parliamentary meeting

According to, the Indian government has been reviewing an encrypted report submitted by the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC), whose task is to study all aspects of cryptocurrency and make recommendations. The report containing the draft encryption bill was published on July 22, but the bill has not yet been submitted to Parliament. At the encrypted hearing of the Supreme Court on Thursday, the government announced plans for the bill. Financial Express reported that the government has informed the court that the IMC has recommended “completely ban private cryptocurrencies” in India and added: “Banning of Cryptocurrency and Regulation of Officials” (The Banning of Cryptocurrency and Regulation of Official) Digital Currency Bill, 2019) will be presented at the next parliamentary meeting.
