The US Congress submitted two new cryptocurrency bills on January 30 to address price manipulation issues and enhance the country's competitive advantage in emerging industries. The first bill, called the HR 922-2019 Virtual Money Consumer Protection Act, aims to address price manipulation issues. Another bill is called HR 923. – 2019 US Virtual Money Market and Regulatory Competition Act. If adopted, the CFTC Chair is required to submit another report detailing the means to promote the country’s competitiveness in this area.
