Peter Todd: If more than a certain percentage of Stakers are offline, the PoS chain will come to a standstill

On August 12th, Twitter user @grubles asked: "When for some reason, the user will be punished and lose a certain percentage of ETH (the worst case is up to 60%), then why? Someone has Stake ETH?” Peter Todd, the former Bitcoin core developer, replied: “They need to be so crazy about offline time, because if a certain percentage of Stakers goes offline, the PoS chain will come to a standstill, not good. Recovery method. Basically, the set of block controllers is fixed in the short term and the new controller cannot be added."
