Analysis: The risk-adjusted earnings of Bitcoin over the past year exceeded gold and the S&P 500

According to data research firm TradeBlock, in the past year, Bitcoin's risk-adjusted earnings exceeded gold and the S&P 500 index. TradeBlock uses the weekly price movement as an interval to calculate the bitcoin's Sotino ratio of 1.97, compared to 1.06 for gold and 0.25 for the S&P 500 (the bigger the number, the better). ETH is the second-largest digital currency by market capitalization and has performed poorly in the past year at a rate of 0.45, but still exceeds the S&P 500. Bitcoin's total return over the past year was 80%, compared to 24% for gold, 3.4% for S&P 500, and -35% for ETH.
