Malaysian Power Company: Bitcoin miners stole $25 million in electricity

According to Cointelegraph, Malaysian power company Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) is taking austerity measures to stop the multi-million dollar loss caused by bitcoin miners stealing electricity. According to EdgeProp's August 15 report, as of June 2019, the tamper-evident switchboard used in local bitcoin mining operations had caused a loss of RM106 million ($25.3 million). During this period, there were 437 mining-related power theft cases in Malaysia, of which 370 occurred in Selangor.
