Bakkt CEO: ICE Futures US is the real provider of Bitcoin futures trading services, and Bakkt provides hosting services.

According to CoinDesk, Bakkt CEO Kelly Loefler said that Bakkt's core services will be "compliance with secure hosting" and institutional-scale transactions. Bakkt itself is not an exchange, but will use the infrastructure of its parent company. Therefore, it is ICE Futures US that actually provides bitcoin futures trading services to customers, while Bakkt and its Bakkt Warehouse provide the hosting services required for actual delivery contracts. Note: Bakkt plans to officially launch a physical settlement of the Bitcoin futures contract on September 23.
