US regulators are still worried about visiting Libra-related issues in Switzerland

Maxine Waters, chairman of the US House Financial Services Committee, will lead a six-member delegation to visit Switzerland and meet with Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner Adrian Lobsiger on Facebook's digital currency Libra. On August 25, Maxine Waters issued a statement saying that the US House Financial Services Committee delegation met with a number of regulators and legislators, including the National Financial Services Secretariat (SIF), the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Financial Markets Authority (FINMA), etc. It said that although I am very grateful to the Swiss government officials for taking the time to meet with us, I am still worried about allowing a large technology company to create a privately controlled alternative global currency. I look forward to the Congressional delegation continuing to review these issues within the jurisdiction of the Commission, including money laundering and other matters.
