McAfee Labs: Encryption hijacking software attack rate increased by 29% in the first quarter

McAfee Labs released the August 2019 threat report, which concluded that encryption hijacking is on the rise. According to the study, from the fourth quarter of 2018 to the first quarter of 2019, encryption mining malware activity increased by 29%. Both MacOS and Windows have encountered targeted attacks. Account holders of Coin, Bitstamp, Bittrex, Coinbase, MyEtherWallet and Poloniex have stolen personal information.
