VanEck ETF Product Manager: This release allows stocks to be created and traded like ETFs

The Wall Street Journal said investment management firms VanEck Securities Corp. and SolidX management plan to sell bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to institutional investors on Thursday. But Ed Lopez, head of VanEck ETF products, said in an e-mailed statement to Reuters that the offering allows stocks to be created and traded like ETFs, but it is not an ETF. Unlike ETFs, it is not listed on the National Stock Exchange but on the OTC Link ATS platform. VanEck CEO Jan van Eck said that the institutional needs of Bitcoin are uncertain, as there is still no institutional quality tool.
