The chief economist of ING: The central currency era is coming soon

According to Sina Finance, Mark Cliffe, chief economist at Holland International Group (ING), said that the central bank's digital currency may come with remittances. He pointed out that the rapid development of distributed ledger technology has enabled people to extensively study and discuss the possibilities, advantages and disadvantages of the central bank's digital currency, involving governance and regulation in the public and private sectors, including economics, currency, finance, privacy, and data. The launch of the Libra cryptocurrency program has put more pressure on central banks around the world to accelerate the pace of adaptation and innovation. Perhaps, in the next two to three years, a formal central bank digital currency will emerge.
