German bank WEG Bank AG plans to handle encrypted payments for retailers in 2020

According to CoinDesk, German bank WEG Bank AG plans to start processing cryptocurrency payments for retailers starting in 2020. Matthias von Hauff, CEO of WEG Bank AG, said the project is currently accepting applications from retailers for the sandbox test group, which will be open to the public in early 2020. It is reported that the bank is partly owned by blockchain companies Nimiq, TokenPay and the Litecoin Foundation.
