US Ohio government announces suspension of support for companies using Bitcoin to pay taxes

On October 2, Ohio State Finance Minister Robert Sprague announced that it would immediately suspend the operation of the Ohio online website, which allows companies to pay taxes in bitcoin. Sprague claims to have to obtain approval from the Board of Deposit before launching a site in Ohio that allows businesses to pay in digital currency, according to an internal review. He said Ohio wants to explore innovative technologies and continue to push Ohio to the future. However, we must ensure that any new programs implemented, such as, are established under Ohio law.
