CME Bitcoin Futures Open Positions Reduced by 50% in the Third Quarter

Market analysis platform Skew markets issued a tweet saying that the open position of CME Bitcoin futures in the third quarter was reduced by 50%, which means that both spot prices and trading volume have declined. In addition, the latest COT report shows that a large number of contracts may have expired in September, equivalent to more than 4,000 bitcoins. Previously, according to Arcane Crypto's research report, there is a clear correlation between contract settlement and negative daytime bitcoin earnings. The report further shows that since January 2018, bitcoin has fallen by an average of 2.27% as the CME maturity date approaches.
