According to Unian, the Digital Transformation Ministry of Ukraine plans to legalize the country's cryptocurrency mining within two to three years. According to a statement issued by the Department of Public Information on October 7th, after meeting with the blockchain community in the country, the government hopes to develop tax rules to deal with cryptocurrencies and approve international deals on combating money laundering by the summer of 2020. It is recommended to minimize the negative impact of legalization of cryptocurrencies. The Ministry also plans to introduce blockchain technology into national registries during the above period, encourage international cryptocurrency exchanges to enter Ukraine, and welcome foreign companies and investors to enhance Ukraine's competitiveness in the global virtual asset market.
