Block.one explores authentication systems: future "Passes" may replace keys or passwords

EOS distribution company Block.one today released the article "The future without passwords: building a more secure and easy-to-use authentication system." With the launch of the EOSIO Labs program, Block.one began an open innovation in the future of blockchain technology built by EOSIO. Previously, B1 released the first "Universal Authenticator Library (UAL)" to explore the future of private key management and its impact on security and key management. This article aims to explore the problems that plague existing authentication systems and the problems that modern society is trying to overcome beyond passwords. At the same time, a theoretical solution is proposed: use "Passes" instead of a key or password. To support authentication and authorization use cases, B1 introduced the concept of the digital "Pass Manager." Pass Manager is a no-password example for registration, authentication, and authorization use cases.
