BSN is committed to building a consistent and recognized industry. 1. What is the Blockchain Service Network (BSN)?

The Blockchain-based Service Network (BSN) is a global infrastructure network based on alliance chain technology and consensus trust mechanism. According to the BSN white paper, the service network is an information infrastructure. Just as every household does not need to drill their own wells, it is necessary to establish a public water plant through the city to enjoy a unified water supply service, thereby reducing social costs.

As a new type of data storage and transmission method based on the Internet, blockchain provides technical support for the trusted information exchange between different industries and participating entities. The biggest value of the blockchain is the transformation of the Internet from the information Internet to the value Internet. According to the BSN official website, BSN is the second generation of intelligent professional Internet based on blockchain and consensus trust mechanism.

At present, the development of key core technologies of BSN has been basically completed, and the pilot deployment nationwide has been initially completed. When it is officially opened in 2020, the number of BSN city nodes will be expected to reach hundreds, and urban nodes will be deployed in other countries.

Second, the use of BSN to improve the high cost of the alliance chain

The pain point of the development of the blockchain industry is the lack of a recognized public infrastructure at the bottom of the blockchain in the industry. The deployment and operation and maintenance costs of blockchain applications are relatively high.

The blockchain architecture is mainly divided into a public chain and a license chain. Under the public-chain structure, any user can freely join or opt out of the public-chain application anonymously, and can conduct data transactions and information dissemination without supervision, which is characterized by privacy and complete decentralization. Under the current regulatory requirements in China, it is difficult for the public chain to operate legally.

Under the license chain structure, a structure in which alliances are formed by multiple parties, and alliance members jointly formulate internal rules is called a coalition chain. The license chain for which the entire application rules are controlled by only one party is called the private chain. Regulators can provide effective legal and technical supervision of the application of the alliance chain.

The main purpose of BSN is to change the high cost of the application of the alliance chain, to provide developers with a common blockchain operating environment based on the Internet concept, and to reduce the technical and economic thresholds for blockchain applications. Under the traditional alliance chain architecture, the application participants need to establish a blockchain running environment for each alliance application participating in a different organization, which causes the participants to be overburdened, and in most cases the server resources are running at low load or idle. status. In addition, different organizations' blockchain applications use different underlying platform architectures and different technical standards. Business data is difficult to interact, which restricts the technical transformation and industrial layout of blockchains.

As a public infrastructure network, BSN can solve the above pain points well. According to BSN's white paper, BSN is designed to provide a public infrastructure network that can low-cost development, deployment, operation and maintenance, interoperability and supervision of alliance chain applications. . Currently, BSN is mainly used in the alliance chain and does not support any public chain application.

Third, the network structure of "public city node + consensus sorting cluster service"

The BSN consists of a public city node and a consensus sorting cluster service. At present, more than 50 public city nodes in 31 provinces and municipalities across the country have completed or are deploying blockchain service networks. The consensus sorting cluster is developed, constructed and operated by China UnionPay and is responsible for providing services for each blockchain application within all urban nodes.

Each city can establish one or more public city nodes, all of which are connected via the Internet. A certain number of billing nodes are also deployed in each city node. For high frequency applications, city nodes can automatically assign billing nodes with high processing performance; for low frequency applications, one account may share one billing node.

Application publishers and users can use unified blockchain certificate management to join an unlimited number of blockchain applications. After the application publisher deploys the application to multiple city nodes of the service network, the participants can access through the city node gateway. The urban node gateway can help the participants to adapt the sub-chain services and the urban nodes to form a blockchain application architecture.

Fourth, the blockchain layout of the sponsoring unit

BSN was jointly sponsored by the National Information Center, China UnionPay, China Mobile Design Institute, China Mobile Government and Enterprise Branch, China Mobile Financial Technology and Beijing Jujube Technology. Among them, the National Information Center conducts top-level planning, and China UnionPay and China Mobile use independent blockchain technology and existing network resources and data centers for independent research and development and deployment.

The National Information Center is affiliated to the National Development and Reform Commission. The establishment of the BSN indicates that government agencies have increased their emphasis on blockchain technology. In March 2019, the Internet Information Office published the first batch of domestic blockchain information service filing number.

China UnionPay and China Mobile have already made arrangements in the blockchain field.

In 2015, China UnionPay established a blockchain research team to explore the application of blockchain technology in the financial sector, starting with technical evaluation, technology application and digital currency. In 2017, China UnionPay and Tongji University jointly launched the blockchain evaluation standard program. The blockchain evaluation program includes general blockchain evaluation standards applicable to various industries and blockchain evaluation standards specifically for the financial industry.

At present, China UnionPay covers the application of trusted electronic voucher applications, digital integration applications, underlying platform construction and cross-border remittances in the application of blockchain.
