Research: US government spending on the blockchain in 2022 may reach $123.5 million

According to Cointelegraph, IDC Government Insights reports that by 2022 the US federal government is expected to increase blockchain spending to $123.5 million, an increase of 1000% from $10.7 million in 2017. At the same time, state and local government blockchain spending is also expected to increase, from $4.4 million in 2017 to $48.2 million in 2022, an increase of nearly 1,000%. Shawn McCarthy, head of IDC research, points out that over time, government investment in blockchain technology may grow further and expand into more complex areas.
