Facebook scams use Australian hosts and NAB executive photos and fake news to trick investors into buying bitcoins

According to Daily Mail, photos of Australian TV presenter Waleed Aly were used for bitcoin investment scams on Facebook. Facebook fake ads also use photos of former NSW Governor Mike Baird to lead users to a fake article that cites interviews between Aly and Baird and encourages readers to purchase cryptocurrencies. Since Mike Baird is an executive at National Australia Bank (NAB), the bank is currently investigating “false news” sites and advertising. A NAB spokesperson said the bank knew and confirmed that Baird “is not linked to the company or product mentioned”.
