Bittrex was sued for a SIM card exchange attack, criminals stealing 100 bitcoins from victims

On November 4th, the crypto exchange Bittrex was being sued for a SIM card exchange attack that allowed criminals to get 100 bitcoins, currently worth nearly $1 million. Seattle angel investor Gregg Bennett filed a lawsuit in the High Court of King County, Washington, DC, alleging that Bittrex violated its published security agreement, ignored industry standards, and lost the opportunity to stop this high-risk theft. He also claimed that when the hacking attack on April 15, 2019 was underway, Bittrex did not take action and did not respond quickly enough after receiving his direct notice.
