BitMEX said in a blog yesterday that thousands of exchange customers were facing privacy risks last week due to internal processes. It is reported that because the main email server imposes restrictions on bulk email delivery, BitMEX has established an internal system to handle important emails. The exchange said that it sent very few emails to all users, the last time it was sent in 2017. To speed up the process, the exchange's email system API was changed at the last minute, but there was no standard review process. BitMEX said its large-scale e-mail delivery operation failed, causing "most BitMEX users" to publicly expose their e-mail addresses on CC1 via CCBC on November 1.
