The US Congress will vote on a bill involving cryptocurrency derivatives

The US Congress will soon vote on a bill that provides new information about the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's (CFTC) mandate for the cryptocurrency derivatives market. A clause in the 2019 CFTC Reauthorization Act spells out how regulators should collect information about digital goods contracts and commodity swaps. If passed, the bill will be the first to include a specific requirement for digital goods authorized by Congress in the CFTC. In addition, according to S. Patrick Maloney, the author of the article, the bill has become the first legislation in the history to pass the Commission's cryptocurrency derivatives.
