PricewaterhouseCoopers executives: There is a problem with the “traceability” of the blockchain in the retail industry

In an interview with Tech Wire Asia on November 7, Craig Heraghty, head of PwC's agribusiness, talked about the rapid development of the blockchain in the global retail industry. He believes that the biggest obstacle faced by food retail giants such as Wal-Mart and Nestle in adopting blockchain systems has nothing to do with the technology itself. The weakest link in the blockchain is not the blockchain or any technology, but the tape that attaches the label to the package. Given that the data record itself may be tamper-proof, the physical entry point is not foolproof, so there is a potential problem with the blockchain giving supermarket chain stores and consumers a “dance of traceability”.
