BCH developer Amaury Secher said in the Reddit post that the BCH block size has stopped at 32 MB because the idea of block expansion is too complicated. One user suggested that the BCH network could start generating 512 MB blocks to store transactions, which could allow up to 2000 transactions per second, even at a rate comparable to Visa. However, blocks of this size are still only envisaged and can pose serious challenges for BCH networks. Currently, most blockchain networks do not reach the maximum block limit that can be transmitted. But moving to large blocks may mean further network concentration, because only dedicated miners can deliver such large blocks.
