Foreign media: Malta is no longer a safe haven for blockchain companies

CoinGape issued a statement saying that Malta is no longer a safe haven for blockchain companies. The World Bank's Doing Business Report 2020 lists Malta, a “crypto-friendly country”, as the country with the lowest level of business convenience in the European Union. In the latest ranking, Malta ranks 12th lower than in 2018, ranking 88th in the world.
Although Malta has long been known for its support of the blockchain, the latest report confirms that in the past year, the country’s sectoral cryptocurrency exchanges and companies have experienced closures and complaints. In September this year, the Malta Financial Services Authority introduced new anti-money laundering laws to curb money laundering and fraud.
