Xiao Wei shared Baidu's exploration of the use of blockchain technology in the direction of urban intelligent construction, which indicated that the blockchain should serve as a carrier for data security, circulation and exchange of the entire smart city. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to introduce you to Baidu’s work in the blockchain field this year. The theme I introduced to you today is “Intelligent City Construction Based on Trusted Networks”, which is also an effort to explore throughout the smart city construction. .

Not long ago, during the 18 times of the collective learning of the central government, the general secretary also mentioned the need to promote the entire blockchain technology in the construction of intelligent cities, and also pointed out some forward-looking work in the field of data exchange and digital assets. .

This year, we are also actively working to apply blockchain technology to various industries, including smart healthcare, smart transportation, smart justice, smart energy, etc., to address a holistic smart city solution for these important applications. We have been implementing it for almost a year, and we feel that we have just started and have some effects.

Blockchain as the carrier of data security, circulation and exchange for the entire smart city

How do we locate and how to do the blockchain? Everyone knows that in the process of being a smart city, what we are asking is how we can improve the intelligence level of the city as a whole through artificial intelligence, 5G, big data, cloud computing and even automatic driving technology.

What is the status and value of the blockchain in the process of upgrading the entire city level? We believe that the blockchain should serve as a vehicle for the identification, circulation and exchange of data across the smart city.

This is the form of the new smart city's underlying urban chain based on Baidu's self-developed super-chain technology. We hope that through this urban chain, government data, enterprise data, and people's livelihood data can be effectively centralized and managed, and each company can use other people's data to each other, thereby reducing the trust cost of the entire society.

In the process, we have been thinking: For data, how do we understand its value in the blockchain field? We will talk about this in four parts.


We believe that blockchain technology can better aid the reliable collection of data. In the credible process of data collection, we combine IoT technology, combined with the technology of lightweight nodes, to deploy these algorithms directly into the trusted area of ​​the IoT device or camera, so that it can be generated in the process of production. Do the right now.

Then we can get through with the judicial system and get through with the notary office. Once your data is stored in this network, we will quickly pass your storage behavior and stored hash value to the court's depository system, directly in the notary. Give you a notarized certificate. In this case, your data storage becomes credible.

Through some of our data encryption and transmission technologies, we can ensure that data is transmitted from Enterprise A to Enterprise B and passed to the Public Security Bureau by the Civil Affairs Bureau. The data is not easily falsified and stolen. It is guaranteed that there is a core problem to be solved after the first three links, that is, the processing of data.

Everyone knows that smart contracts are actually an algorithm. How can we make this algorithm invisible when using data? If the blockchain data is plaintext, we can see it in the encryption process. We can't talk about the privacy protection of data and the exchange of data.

So we introduced the technology of trusted computing and data collaboration, multi-party computing, and integrated it with smart contracts, thus solving the invisible problems of data analysis on the blockchain network.

Based on this problem, we built a decentralized data center for the entire smart city based on the blockchain network. What is the biggest difference between this decentralized data center and the traditional data center? In fact, this is a good understanding. The traditional data center is required to collect all the data of enterprises and governments into a large ITC built by an organization or government. The data will be counted and processed together. The decentralized data center actually puts the data in the hands of the data owner. When you want to use someone else's data, you can use the blockchain's ability to pass data, and then use the data we just mentioned to use invisible processing techniques to get other people's data.

How do you do that? To take a very simple example: We use trusted hardware, and in the hands of every data owner, it has a trusted hardware that has been certified. When they throw the algorithm into the trusted hardware trusted zone, the execution of an algorithm is initiated by the trusted zone. The executed algorithm and the executed data itself are not stolen by the outside world. This is guaranteed by the trusted zone. . Based on the combination of these two technologies, we have built a decentralized data processing platform between various governments and enterprises.

Baidu's four major areas of deployment

Based on this network and this data exchange system, we have deployed four major industries this year: 1. Medical field, 2. Government field, 3. Judicial field, 4. Transportation field.

Next, I will briefly introduce you to these four areas, talk about what we want to do specifically, and then how we land.

1. Medical :

The medical problem is related to too many people. Now the whole medical experience is actually very bad. We want to solve two problems through the blockchain: (1) the supervision of the overall medical behavior, and (2) the transfer of medical prescriptions. Internet medical convenience issues;


These two issues are essentially a matter of regulation and data exchange.

We have given a holistic solution that uses blockchain technology and trusted data exchange technology to open up the entire link between pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, medical insurance bureaus, health care committees, drug regulatory bureaus, pharmacies, banks, and insurance companies. It can realize remote consultation and remote prescription, and this electronic prescription can be recognized by commercial insurance, insurance company, medical insurance, but when he takes the medical insurance prescription to the pharmacy to buy medicine, he can complete the direct compensation of medical insurance and the medical insurance. pay.

To what extent are we doing now? We have piloted in Chongqing, which is online and offline. We have only achieved 1/3 of the effect. We have implemented the hardware transformation in the hospital, the doctor's diagnosis system, the ward's doctor-patient system, and the hospital's APP. At this time, the patient can directly register through the APP of the Chongqing Emergency Center (the top three hospitals). After hanging, the doctor will find him through the video. There is a problem in this place: If the doctor thinks you need to come to the hospital, you have to come to the hospital, but it simplifies the process, that is, the doctor will open the check list in advance. You can only go to the hospital to deliver the test immediately, instead of going to the hospital to check it out, and then wait a long time to see the doctor again. This process is simplified. If the doctor thinks you don't need to come to the hospital, then all the processes I just mentioned are open. It is the only medical insurance and insurance company that has not been opened yet. Everyone has the opportunity to go to Chongqing to experience it. This also proves that the pilot project of supervision based on blockchain in the medical field is still recognized by the government.

2. Justice :

This case is mainly to solve the problem of the entire judiciary. Everyone knows that there is a very important thing in the judiciary – evidence. The evidence of the judiciary was previously passed offline, because the evidence passed offline is more realistic and reliable. Once your evidence is to be passed up, it must ensure that every aspect of the evidence is not wrong. If the evidence transmitted by the Internet fails, it will cause devastating damage to the justice of the entire judiciary. Therefore, in the entire version of the judicial version 1.0, the work of the confirmation of the evidence, the storage of evidence and the collection of evidence are mainly carried out. Where is its first scene? We think that copyright is a very good one, and it is also a case of running this year. Now the whole video and article are very hot. Throughout the UGC copyright creation process, it immediately put copyright information in the judicial evidence chain, and he can take up an opportunity in the follow-up infringement lawsuit.


In order to better connect our system and the judicial system, we also participated in the construction of the entire judiciary, including the construction of the Internet Court in Beijing last year, the construction of the Internet Court in Guangzhou this year, and the arbitration system of the Qingdao Arbitration Commission in September. Construction. We support the construction of these judicial systems, and we are doing a better job of the user experience of the entire validity of the depositary justice, and make this closed loop better.

3. Intelligent government :

After the entire Shandong adopted the underlying network of the blockchain and the data exchange system, it completely solved the problem of the Internet. Government agencies such as the Civil Affairs Bureau, the Public Security Bureau, and the Industrial and Commercial Bureau use the city chain we built for them, and based on the above data exchange system, they acknowledge that the data transmitted is the data of the office, and they recognize the data that the Civil Affairs Bureau sent to them. . In this case, when the people are doing things, if he needs the certification of other bureaus, he will not have to run again. Our goal is to run only once, and the blockchain is really a very good solution here.


Next, let's work harder and turn "just run once" into not running. We believe that by 2020, we can achieve this goal.

4. Intelligent transportation :

In the process of transformation of some road sections, we gradually found that the blockchain is also very advantageous in the field of intelligent traffic management. So, in the smart contracts of the entire city chain, we also help them develop solutions for smart contracts for smart transportation. The simpler one is about urban parking spaces, and we can easily implement unmanned parking spaces through blockchains. We have further realized the linkage between the camera, the traffic lights, the traffic police law enforcement instrument and the traffic police law enforcement center. In addition, we are also doing coordination and linkage between multiple sensors. Slowly, we are gradually improving the performance and efficiency of the entire traffic.


The blockchain will be fully integrated, and technologies such as AI and Internet of Things will be integrated.

In fact, whether it is doing medical care, doing government affairs, doing traffic, even doing energy and doing environmental protection, in fact, our core solution is the determination, storage, transmission and calculation of data. This is the core algorithm of the entire blockchain. And the idea. Therefore, we use a technical solution to support all the scenarios, and this technical solution is a blockchain technology independently developed by Baidu. We call it Super Chain. It does not need to be customized. Smart contracts can do their own products directly.

In addition, with Baidu's traffic and the advantages of AI, Internet of Things, and big data, we have also done a lot of things, including several scenarios I just mentioned. These scenes really want to do well, no AI, no cloud computing, no Internet of Things, certainly not doing well. Therefore, the so-called blockchain's comprehensive landing must be accompanied by AI, along with the Internet of Things, along with IoT, with the landing of the edge. So which company can integrate these technologies into Dacheng, that company has an advantage in the entire blockchain landing. And if a company only has a blockchain, then this is still difficult.

We will soon release another heavyweight product. We hope that the entire blockchain will no longer be a technology. The blockchain should be a coal-fired power coal, and everyone will come and go.
