Ethereum client Geth releases version 1.9.7

On November 7, Ethereum core developer Péter Szilágyi said that Geth v1.9.7 (Quad Kicker) has been released. This version further "initializes" the Istanbul hard fork of block height 9069000 (expected December 4th). In addition to developing code for Istanbul, developers have introduced several updates, including enforcement of the correct fork command, integration of Istanbul configuration support for private networks, and acceleration of certain opcodes by avoiding copying memory in the EVM.
It is reported that the Istanbul hard fork will soon launch EIP 2200, EIP 1108, EIP 152, EIP 1884, EIP 1344 and EIP 2028. The Ethereum test network Gorli was successfully upgraded on October 30th. The Rinkeby test network is scheduled to be upgraded on November 13.
