Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam plans to develop a blockchain-related regulatory framework to build smart cities

Today, in Ho Chi Minh City, the chairman of the Saigon Hi-Tech Park Management Committee, Lê Bích Loan, signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korea’s CBA Ventures. Ho Chi Minh City plans to develop regulatory frameworks and policies related to blockchain technology to minimize the potential risks of building smart cities. Trần Vĩnh Tuyến, vice chairman of the People’s Committee of the city, said: “The city will give priority to projects that apply science and technology, especially using artificial intelligence and blockchain technology to solve urban problems and develop smart cities.” In addition, the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam will give priority to supporting blockchain start-ups through the new project “Supporting the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem by 2025”.
