Tunisian central bank denies reports that it has launched digital currency

The Tunisian Central Bank denied reports that it had launched the central bank’s digital currency. In a statement this week, the Tunisian central bank refutes rumors that it has become the first monetary authority to issue the central bank's digital currency (CBDC). The Tunisian central bank acknowledged that it is considering the establishment of CBDC because it is studying alternatives to existing currencies, but there is currently no plan for E-Dinar to be put into use.
