GitHub Arctic saves open source software, bitcoin or will be archived for millennia

GitHub officially announced that in order to leave open source software for future generations, it will take snapshots of all public repositories on February 2, 2020, and then save it in an abandoned coal mine 250 meters underground. Snapshots are stored on a special film with a lifetime of up to 1000 years. Currently, GitHub has released a promotional video for the program that includes Bitcoin web content. As one of the representatives of open source software, Bitcoin will be able to archive thousands of years.
