Indian Supreme Court Holds Hearing on Limiting Bank Encryption Business of Reserve Bank of India

The Supreme Court of India held a cryptographic hearing on Monday, which was a written petition to limit the banking business of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The hearing was originally scheduled for November 19th, but was held at the request of a senior lawyer on November 18. Senior lawyers at Royal Bank of India have called for a moratorium on the encryption case, and the legal battle around cryptocurrency and digital assets in India will resume on January 14, 2020.
