Japanese Government's defence: Crypto assets cannot be used to pay inheritance tax

On November 26, the Japanese government said at the State Council that in response to questions from the constituents of the Constitutional Democratic Party, the letter of intent stated that "the state tax cannot be paid with crypto assets (virtual currency)." The Japanese government stated that although the "Inheritance Tax Law" listed real estate, marketable securities, etc. as deliverable property, the reply explained that "cryptographic assets do not meet the provisions of the law and can be used as deliverable property."
