Uttar Pradesh to pilot blockchain-based P2P solar trade

According to Cointelegraph, Uttar Pradesh (UP) will collaborate with Australian blockchain energy company Power Ledger to pilot a P2P solar trading project. According to a press release on November 28, the state power utility company UP Power Corporation Limited and the Uttar Pradesh New Energy and Renewable Energy Development Agency have partnered with Power Ledger to launch a P2P solar trade trial to test their utility. The first phase of the project is scheduled for completion in March 2020. During the trial, Power Ledger will integrate a blockchain-based platform with a smart meter system to enable residents with solar infrastructure on the roof to set prices, track energy transactions, and settle excess solar transactions through smart contracts.
