Network technology giant Cisco files patent application for blockchain platform

According to CoinDesk, network technology giant Cisco has recently won a patent that details how to use blockchain to protect data in 5G telecommunications networks. Documents filed by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on November 26 show that Cisco submitted a patent application for a blockchain platform in June 2018, which can be natively integrated into wireless networks. Blockchain platforms are designed to manage data sessions between devices (such as phones or laptops) and virtual networks. In other words, the new technology can manage part of the data exchange between the network and connected devices through the block link port.
