Monetary Authority of Singapore: Beware of fraudulent websites that use comments from top officials to solicit Bitcoin investment

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has warned that a fraudulent website has been soliciting bitcoin investments by fabricating remarks by Tharman Shanmugaratnam, the deputy prime minister of Singapore and chairman of the board of directors of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). In addition, the site has a news page that mimics a local media agency. MAS said: "The information on this site is highly deceptive and misleading, and the so-called statement is completely fictitious. The site requires users to pay to a platform that claims to support Bitcoin transactions, and also tries to get users to provide credit cards or Bank account information."
