U.S. Financial Stability Oversight Board urges monitoring of digital assets

According to CoinDesk, the U.S. Financial Stability Supervisory Board released an annual report on December 4 stating that the council recommended that federal and state regulators continue to study and monitor the risks posed by emerging uses of digital assets and distributed ledger technology to the financial system. According to the report, the risks of "existing and planned digital asset arrangements" could put the stability of the financial industry at risk "through direct and indirect links with banking services, financial markets and financial intermediaries."
