U.S. Marshals and FBI remind the public to beware of scam calls involving Bitcoin ATM machines

The U.S. Marshal and the FBI once again reminded the public to beware of imposter phone scams involving Bitcoin ATM machines. On Friday, a recent fraud advisory report stated that the scammers impersonated government employees and demanded that potential scammers pay through a Bitcoin ATM. U.S. bailiffs urge people to report such calls to the local FBI office and file consumer complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, which has the ability to detect fraud from the information collected and share that data with law enforcement.
