Central Bank reiterates: Beware of individual institutions issuing or promoting legal digital currencies in the name of the People's Bank of China

Recently, some institutions have traded related products under the name "DC / EP" or "DCEP". The People's Bank of China issued a notice on November 13 (attached) to remind the general public not to be deceived. The People's Bank of China reiterated that the People's Bank of China has not issued any legal digital currency (DC / EP) nor authorized any asset trading platform to conduct transactions. The so-called legal digital currency issuance through the Internet, and individual institutions launching "DC / EP" or "DCEP" in the name of the People's Bank of China may involve fraud and pyramid schemes. The general public is requested to raise their awareness of risk, not to believe in credulity, and to prevent damage to interests.
