Report: The average daily trading volume of CME Group Bitcoin futures contracts will increase by 75% between 2018 and 2019

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group's cash-settled Bitcoin futures contract has been in operation for two years. As of December 17, 2019, CME Group has completed approximately 2.5 million contract transactions. The average daily transaction volume (ADV) increased by 75% between 2018 and 2019, reaching a record 33,677 contracts on May 13, 2019.
Bitcoin open interest (OI) increased by 66% between 2018 and 2019, and on July 1, 2019, OI set a new record of 6,128 contracts.
In addition, the number of new accounts increased in the second and third quarters of 2019, and the number of unique addresses increased from less than 500 in December 2018 to 3,600.
