Jobadiah Weeks suspected of participating in crypto Ponzi scheme BitClub put in pretrial detention

According to The Block, according to a recent order from a federal judge in Florida, Joe Jobadiah Weeks, a co-conspirator suspected of encrypting the Ponzi scheme BitClub, will remain in jail until trial. A federal indictment accused Jobadiah Weeks and suspected conspirators of operating a large-scale Ponzi scheme involving cryptocurrency mining, and a December 20, 2019 order refused to release Weeks before trial. The court noted that lack of ties to the United States, claims to abandon citizenship, and possession of large amounts of assets (cryptocurrency and others) were factors opposing its release. Weeks has moved from Florida to New Jersey.
