Florida International University publishes paper stating that Lightning Network itself is extremely attractive to botnets

On December 24, researchers from Florida International University published a paper stating that the anonymity of Lightning Network and its lack of censorship make it extremely attractive for botnet attacks. They believe that these characteristics provide many advantages for spreading and remotely controlling malware. The researchers even made a proof-of-concept LNBot, a hidden hybrid botnet that can be used to steal funds.
