Plasma Group announces that it will stop studying Ethereum's scalability solution because the theoretical basis is mature enough

The Ethereum non-profit research organization Plasma Group published a blog on January 9th, announcing that it would stop researching Ethereum's scalability solution, and at the same time promised to donate the remaining funds of the organization to Gitcoin. According to the organization, after one year of operation, the Plasma Group has concluded that because the theoretical foundation is mature enough, Plasma scalability research is no longer needed. Earlier, Kelvin Fichter, the core developer of the Plasma Group team, said in August 2019 that he was in a bad state and announced that he would temporarily leave the team.
