Professor of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law: relevant provisions on digital currencies should be added to the People's Bank of China Law or Monetary Law

On January 23, Qiao Xinsheng, a professor at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, wrote in the Securities Times "Five issues to consider in China's financial legislation." The article points out that in the era of digital economy, currency will definitely evolve into digital currency. The People's Bank of China should consider speeding up the research and development of digital currencies in China and request the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress to add relevant provisions on digital currencies in the People's Bank of China Law or the Currency Law, so as to lay a solid legal foundation for the issuance and circulation of digital currencies in China.
